The main objective of digital transformation is to get adapted to the possibilities brought in by today’s 4.0 Industry.

A demanding investment and a bold challenge, with very much potential, though, that Televes Corporation has harnessed through the Corp4Future project.

This project has been jointly run by Televes, Tredess and Gsertel – three companies making up the business group. Given this scenario, it is no coincidence that one of the main goals of such investment was the enhancement of the productive process of the corporation as a whole.

Corp4Future was successfully implemented and launched in mid 2021. Nowadays, we can only confirm how beneficial it has been for every member of Televes Corporation. It has also proved that, in terms of investment, innovation and growth, it is the right path to keep the critical competitiveness in an industry that is moving forward faster and faster.

Corp4Future: A Joint Project to Transform 4.0 Industry

Among the companies composing Televes Corporation, Televes, TRedess and Gsertel have been core in this project – although they also joined forces with Maxwell, ISF, Gainsa and GCE.

They all cooperated to enhance competitiveness in productive processes as well as logistic efficiency by means of new technologies and manufacturing methods. Some practical examples are reflected in the optimization of the processes of raw-material transformation, collaborative robotics or IIoT (Industrial IoT).

Such an ambitious investment reached 23 million euros for a project that was implemented over 4 years. The decisive importance of this industrial challenge has been even endorsed by the Galician Government (Xunta de Galicia). The Regional Government decided to include it in the incentive program for investment in the intelligent-industry area after a public call. Thus, Corp4Future received 5.8 million euros from the Xunta funds, which shows the trust in the commitment of Televes Corporation to embrace the 4.0 Industry.

The Future of Production: Televes, Tredess and Gsertel Working Hand in Hand for Corp4Future

The Corp4Future project is essentially intended to strengthen the capacity of Televes Corporation to maintain the technological and industrial leadership in the markets where the group does business at both national and international scale.

Yet another purpose of this initiative was to better position the corporate companies in new prospective markets – for instance, the development of radio-frequency microelectronics; advanced telecare systems; energy efficiency; smart cities; or even the aeronautics industry, among others.

Hence, Corp4Future was designed based on 5 main objectives:

  1. Improving as many production processes within the corporation as possible with the help of new technologies.
  2. Designing and developing new functionalities and technologies to boost technological excellence. In turn, the corporation can reach new markets and the Galician industrial network is reinforced thanks to ICT.
  3. Accessing new markets and consolidating the traditional ones. That is why enhancing productivity and developing new business areas were sought.
  4. Improving each and every information and communication system between the companies of the corporation and their customers. Thus, more customized and flexible products and services can be offered.
  5. Developing a global prototype within the corporation to demonstrate the newly acquired capabilities and the 4.0 Industry paradigm, as well as assessing the improvement of processes achieved.
Apart from these objectives, it is worth mentioning that the Corp4Future project has enhanced the dynamics of the specialists of each participating company.

This is a very strong commitment to the R&D team of each company. Recruitment of new qualified members is encouraged for those areas with different professional profiles.

As a matter of fact, 25 positions were created only to develop this project. However, the potential to develop and leverage new technological opportunities in the transition to 4.0 industry may require up to 120 hires in the mid and long term.

This is an attractive feature for new suppliers and collaborators, and also an opportunity for the established ones interested in working with companies that embrace new technologies.

At a regional scale, all these objectives have a positive impact on Galicia in terms of business, economy and technology – one of the reasons why the regional government included Corp4Future in the incentive program.

During the presentation of results and closure of Corp4Future, the CEO of Televes Corporation, Santiago Rey, underlined “the capacities and synergies of the companies making up Televes Corporation”. An example of teamwork at business and industrial levels that proves the advantages of competitive collaboration of Televes, Tredess and Gsertel.
